the happy gardener - helping your garden grow

Welcome to The Happy Gardener.

Hi, I am Rachel Vogan, "The Happy Gardener".

I am  self confessed 'plant-a-holic' with little help of reform. As a gardening commentator, I eat, live and breathe all things from and about the garden.

Born and bred in Canterbury, I am passionate about the region and gardens everywhere.

I am a garden commentator / writer with regular columns and features in Kiwi Gardener, Christchurch Star, Newstalk ZB, CTV and various other media streams and publications. Along side this I manage the community gardens at The Waiora Trust. This is such a rewarding project.

I sit on the board of the Canterbury Horticultural Society and I am a foundation member of the CERA community forum, a delegated and dedicated group which oversees the rebuilding of Christchurch.
With over 25 years worth of soil under my finger nails, I am here to help you down the garden path. rachelvogan@gmail.com
I can help with anything from garden advice and plans through to answering your gardening questions and  queries.
Together we can 'give it a grow'
